Is there any organization out there that can teach me real estate investing ?

missthankyou asked:

I really would like to get into real estate investing. However, I do not have a mentor. I wish I knew someone who started with nothing and now is a productive real estate investor. I see info out there about becoming a real estate agent but nothing on how to become a real estate investor unless you read books which I have. I just think it would be so much more educationally informational for me if I worked with someone one on one. Can anyone assist me? I appreciate all answers. Thanks guys!

There are many ways to learn how to invest in real estate. Some of the best local sources are you local real estate investing associations. You can find them by googling national REIA you should be albe to find a list thier. It is always good to find local people who are currently investing in real estate because it is great to learn from a reputable national speaker but knowing someone locally has its advantages. Real estate education is fudamentally the same but each area can have some slight variation in application.

My favorite teacher is Vena Jones-Cox she is the best teacher out their! She has become my personal friend and mentor over the last 2 years. You can check her stuff out at http://regoddess.com/jon she is actually having an event I am helping her with here in NJ. That is the link but you can get to other stuff from there as well.

There is a lot of free information out there as well. Blogs, forums, my site. You can find general to specific free info on a lot of REI topics on the net as well.

There are many organizations out there. They may be costs involved, some more than others.

Good places to start. Check in your area for investments clubs. Most large communities have them. That would be your best bet for a local mentor.

Online, I subscribe to. It’s free to register. There are many free resources but they do have pay for services. Quite a lot of free telephone seminars which are worth listening in on. There is a blog that you can ask questions and network as well.

I would be glad to correspond with you. I am both a agent, mortgage broker and investor.
